I am happy to report that my nephew's high school teammate -- Marc Gasol -- provided some of the best sportsmanship seen in the NBA in recent years.
Gasol inadvertently hit Tony Parker in the eye after a three-point attempt, resulting in Tony's going down and reaching for his eye area.
In an effort at sportsmanship the national announcers said they hadn't seen before, Gasol went over to Parker to check on his and perhaps help him up -- rather than run back downcourt to make a 5-on-4 as almost any other player would have done.
Which would we have done?
Been the competitor to run down the court to take advantage in a game in its final minutes?
Or been the sportsman to try to help Parker?
Personally, I hope I would have been the gentleman my nephew's friend was.
