Beltran bribed Bochy out of his uniform number, then stated to the media that he was just trying to fit in. Those are facts. Rog -- Didn't you read the quote I posted from Henry Schulman stating "As for the uniform number, Beltran got some laughs when he said he asked Bochy whether he wanted a watch with diamonds or without. Bochy had joked about asking for a Rolex but in truth surrendered the number without being asked." IN TRUTH (BOCHY) SURRENDERED THE NUMBER WITHOUT BEING ASKED. You understand what that statement means, right? From what you still claim, apparently not. You either don't understand or are simply being arrogant in your opinion, not worrying about its congruity with the facts. When Carlos Beltran was traded to the Giants in 2011, he had missed fewer games than any player on the Mets. This innuendo that he somehow isn't tough is just that -- innuendo.
In fact, just about all the "case" against Carlos here has been just that. Innuendo, incorrect statements, and half truths.
Carlos has been criticized for more or less commandeering Bochy's number, when Henry Schulman wrote that Carlos didn't ask.
He has been criticized or more or less "jaking" it, when it is clear that he has suffered some very, very difficult injuries -- and yet only 87 major leaguers have played more games than he. (He may well jump as high as #49 overall this season, and if he his able to play another after that, he could be as high as #34 all time.
He has been criticized for not truly trying to fit in even though it was written that Pablo Sandoval followed his advice to go the other way more and immediately hit a double the opposite way.
Heck, he's even been criticized for visiting children in a hospital.
It seems clear that little if any fact is required to criticize here. Why bother with the truth?

Then I'll make it easy for everyone, Rog.
I don't like Beltran, not at all.
To me I rarely see him go all out on the field, and the nonsense that he's so good he just "makes it look easy," is flat out nonsense.
NO ONE made things look easier than Mays and he ALWAYS looked like he was hustling.
Don't care about what he's really like, don't care what he does off the field.
I just don't like him.

NO ONE made things look easier than Mays and he ALWAYS looked like he was hustling. Rog -- It was written that Willie made the tough ones look easy and the easy ones look tough. Willie is my favorite player ever, but he didn't always hustle, whether he looked like he was or not. As for making things look easy on the field, some guys have a gliding stride and style, while others look more like chuggers. I don't think there is anyone here who likes a lack of hustle more than I, but almost no players always hustle. When I post here about a player's lack of hustle, usually very little if anything is said about the incident. Carlos Beltran almost certainly won't make the Hall of Fame, perhaps in great part due to the serious injuries he has suffered. But he's been one heck of a player. And if we don't care what a player is truly like, don't care what he does off the field, aren't we using sports simply to escape the real world? Did we not care what Barry Bonds was like, about what he did off the field? Or Willie Mays, for that matter. Read more: sfgiantsmessageboard.proboards.com/thread/3353/who#ixzz4F4vDzbav

By the way, Hank Aaron likely made things look easier than Willie did. I loved Willie in part because I felt he showed the excitement of a hustler like Gary Matthews and the grace of a glider like Garry Maddox.
Speaking of the two Gar(r)y's, I have mentioned this before, but I was taken by the contrast four decades ago of seeing under the Warriors' north basket an older white-haired couple sitting in between Gary and his wife and Garry and his.

Disagree, Rog. I don't think Henry made things look easier, and I also don't believe he was Mays' equal.
As to Gary Mathews and Garry Maddox, I have trouble putting either of those 2 in the same conversation with Mays or Aaron.
I just never saw the greatness in either that others did.
IMHO, Felipe Alou was better than either, as was Al Kaline.

Disagree, Rog. I don't think Henry made things look easier, and I also don't believe he was Mays' equal. Rog -- For as great as he was, Hank made things look routine. Willie made them exciting. I don't believe we disagree that Willie was the better of the two, even though Hank himself was great. Read more: sfgiantsmessageboard.proboards.com/thread/3353/who#ixzz4GNcSpYMY

Rog -- I don't know of anyone who thought either Gary or Garry was great -- except for Maddox's fielding. My point was merely about styles. The hard-charging Matthews exuded excitement (his even ran out from underneath his hat -- batting helmet -- as did Willie); Maddux was as fluid in the field as they came. Matthews was an All-Star who played 16 seasons. Maddox played 15 seasons. Although he didn't make the All-Star team, he won 8 straight Gold Gloves. After he retired, Garry did some announcing for the Phillies and became the owner of their park concessions. Read more: sfgiantsmessageboard.proboards.com/thread/3353/who#ixzz4GNd5GVgs

I vote for the candidate I think is best too, but since I disagree with the Republicans on every issue, how can I vote for them? I have made an exception this year though. I will vote for any Republican that endorses Hillary Clinton, because I think that takes courage. Putting the country's best interest in front of your party's is a move I respect. They nominated a racist, dangerous candidate and a few of them have recognized it. I'm no fan of Hillary and would have preferred anyone else, (voted for Bernie in the primary) but we really have no choice.

Good plan RX...vote for the most vile, evil, corrupt, dishonest candidate out there. I'm not a fan of Trump because he can be an asshole...but Hillary has never accomplished anything good for the country...only for herself. Among the two evils, I'll choose the one who says things roughly as opposed to the one who lies constantly, even to the families of Benghazi victims in front of the coffins of their dead sons. What kind of unfeeling BITCH do you need to be to do that?

Mark:
Have you seen of, or heard of ANY of the 10,000 page document compiled on Hillary by the FBI?
She's not just corrupt, she's conducted and been implicated in hundreds of criminal activities.
And THAT is who you want to vote as president?
I'm not a Trump fan, but I do NOT want a criminal.
If I HAD DONE what Hillary did with those classified emails when I was employed by the government?
i'd be in jail.
Can't have that.
