I like the way you have it, Boagie, but I don't see our league listed among the public leagues that are drafting next Sunday at 6 pm. I did a search for our league and it didn't show up.

I invited Mordy and my son to join the league. Sign up Rog, and get your son too! Any other suggestions let me know

The way I got into fantasy was in taking over my son's team on three hours' notice. I won't be able to get him to join.
I asked some questions of Boagie, but I'm not sure he got the e-mail. So here are my questions:
. Is this roto or head-2-head? If roto, are there game or inning limits by position. If head-to-head, what are the minimum innings pitched per week or caps on innings?
. Are there the usual 10 categories (R, HR, RBI, SB, BA and W,S, K,ERA and WHIP?
. Are we able to reset our lineups daily or weekly?
. Are trades allowed? Is there any limit? Is there a trade deadline?
. How many waiver moves per week do we get? If the weakest team makes two waiver claims, does he get both players because of his position, or does he go to the end of the line after his first successful claim?
. Are the positions C, 1B, 2B, 3B, SS, OF, OF, OF, UT, and UT, plus up to six pitchers per day? Can the UT be any player, or must it be a DH? Does each team have DH as a position?
. How many days must a player sit on waivers before he becomes a free agent again if unclaimed?
. Are we limiting our league to just us? I think I'm seeing: Boagie, Mark and his two sons, Mordy and me? I must be missing one or more.
I didn't realize there were so many possible variables.
I'm learning about how the ESPN computer program works. Man, it's a LOT faster than Yahoo, and I've found myself receiving one or two autopicks per mock draft because I didn't even realize it was my turn. At least I'm getting better. Any hints?
I somehow had the players come up alphabetically instead of numerically. Is there a quick way I can correct that? It pretty much killed my draft from that point on.
I didn't realize how spoiled I was on Yahoo, although that took some learning too.

Rog, if you just join, then you can find the answers for all of those questions for yourself. Then if you'd like to negotiate some changes with Mark and I, we can certainly discuss it. That would be the easiest way for me at least. If Mark wants to give you all the details that's up to him.

Thanks, Boagie. I have indeed joined, and I'll search for the answers. More than anything else, I simply want to understand the rules.
Thanks again for starting up the league. Maybe you can set up a side board for it here. Some will be very bored with things we might considered quite exciting.

That's a good idea, Rog. I'll set up a fantasy side-board when I get to sit down at a computer (which isn't very offen, I usually just use my phone for everything) I'll get on it.

If you check today, you will see all ten teams have been filled so we're ready for the draft on Sunday! I know Mordy will be auto drafting because he'll be at a wedding, but hopefully the rest of us will be there. Most of the others are playing fantasy baseball for the first time, but they should still be decent competition. Sorry you couldn't get your son in, Rog, I got both of mine so I'm obviously a better father! I'm starting the trash talk early!

Even if I had gotten my son to play, you would still have been TWICE as good a dad as I, Mark! Nice that the league is filled.
If we're drafting at 6:00 EASTERN, I too may have to autodraft. I work until 7:00 Eastern. Is there any way we could move the draft back a couple of hours? Otherwise, I'll just do the best I can, even if it's only to autodraft. No problem either way.

I don't know how late the wedding lasts that Mordy is going to attend, but it would be nice if he could be included in the draft as well. I'm OK with things no matter what, but it would be nice if we could accommodate Mordy. I realize it's tough to find a time for everyone, but we've still got four weeks, don't we? Now that everyone's in the league, if we could schedule it far enough ahead that everyone could coordinate their schedules, that would very nice.
We haven't had Mordy around for so long. Let's help get him back! It was probably my fault he left, but I would love to have him back.

I guess we can move the draft to 9 pm if you want. I'll also move the draft to next Sunday 3/13 to accommodate Mr. Chaimowitz

I was wondering where you were, but then I saw you finally joined. Don't worry though. Anyone whose played fantasy baseball knows that the moves you make within the season mean as much as the draft. Pitchers on the waiver wire who are unknowns right now turn out to have great years. Especially in a ten team league! There's good pitchers there right now!

I hope you can set up a separate area for fantasy, Boagie. I know this is boring for guys like Boly and Randy, even though it's exciting to those of us who are playing. As I looked over the various rosters, I was impressed with how just about everyone put some very nice players on their teams. It was the first time for Mark's sons and perhaps one or more others, but no team came across as a bad team. Mark and his sons kept taking players I was interested in. In the case of his one son, immediately before I could choose them. Congratulations to everyone on what looked like a draft in which we knew what we were doing. I know I was working MY hardest to fool people! This should make the summer even more fun. Anyone want to make trades? I'm always open, and frankly, while I made a couple of excellent trades in my five leagues last summer, on balance I helped the teams I traded with more than I helped myself. My goal with trades is to help BOTH teams, and there were certainly a few I made in which only one team was helped -- and it wasn't mine! Hopefully I've learned from my mistakes. Last season I did a much better job drafting (where I was concerned only with making my OWN team better) than with trades, in which I hoped to improve both teams. I'm not saying I was entirely altruistic, by the way, but I do try to look over rosters to see where we might make a deal that helps BOTH teams. If any of you can see a deal where we both might benefit, I'm all ears. Hopefully I'll be a little smarter than last year though and not get taken advantage of! I would have been better off last season if I had simply stuck with what I had. And here I thought I could be a GM.

I might be willing to trade with you, Rog, but I don't know which team you are. I would trade with you as well Mark. Just to create some interest, Trout could be available in a package deal.

It was me, and I accepted the trade. Carlos Gomez was awful for me last year, but I'll take the chance he bounces back. I hate to give up Joe Panik, but that's a Giants thing, I have to be impartial when it comes to fantasy

what did you ask for in return for Trout? That would tell me who it is. I was talking to my older son last night and he was also talking about the app so I think he checked it. That leaves my younger son. I'll check with him tonight. By the way, my older son thinks you got the better of our trade!

I'm asking for Posey, Kershaw and Pollack, in return for Vogt, Trout and Iwakuma (sp?). I'm starting to have second thoughts because offensively Vogt and Trout are much better than Posey and Pollack.

It's ok, Boagie. He would have rejected it anyway. He would have picked Kershaw over Trout if he had the first pick, and no way he would have traded Buster Posey! I actually think that trade is a bad one for him. He would be trading his three top picks for Trout and mediocrity

I figured as much. Giants players are going to be hard to wrestle away from people in this league. But numbers wise Posey and Vogt aren't that far apart, Trout for Pollack was a big upgrade for him. Kershaw for Iwakuma would have probably put the trade slightly in my favor. I don't have a lot of offense or pitching (I still am pissed at myself for missing the draft) so making trades without losing the little I do have is going to be difficult. So, I've decided to just stick with what I got and beat you guys the hard way
