Boly -- my question was, and continues to be CAN he convert to relieving? It's a different skill set. You CAN'T come to the mound and find 'it' in an inning or 2. Rog -- Ryan's career OPS allowed is .755. On his first 25 pitches, it's .749. On average, Ryan hasn't had a great deal of difficulty getting into a game early. Ryan was signed this year primarily as a reliever with an occasional spot start, so for us to be discussing whether he should be starting or relieving is irrelevant. If the Giants don't think he can be an effective reliever, then why the hell did they sign him to be one?
